Ex. of Expandable file folder

Here are a couple of examples of the plastic, expandable file folder portfolio that I am adding to the supply list for PALS. Both of these examples have 7 sections, which is the least number of slots I have been able to find. As long as there are at least 4 sections then it doesn't matter beyond that. I took these examples from the Target & Office Max websites but I have also found these type of folders at Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, etc. I have seen them priced between $7-$15 and are a variety of colors. The sturdier the plastic the better as they need to be able to withstand being transported between school & home everyday. Please let me know if you need financial assistance in purchasing your child's school supplies. Please remember that you only need to purchase the items listed under PALS Program section of the main school supply list. Thank you & see you all soon!

Suson Park Field Trip

Matthew is enjoying his time at Suson Park seeing the animals that we have been studying in class. He's the king of the park while Ms. Lay, Ms. Haire and our very own librarian Mrs. Sears follow him around while he explores! What a beautiful morning!

Holy cow! Did we pick a hot day! I brought extra water bottles, Gatorade, sunscreen and ice bags so the kids should be able to stay cool in the hot temps!

Reminder Special Olympics Softball Tournament

This is just a reminder that we will be participating in the Special Olympics Softball Tournament on Friday, April 4th. Please make sure that you dress your child for the weather. The forecast at this point is calling for only a high of 55' and cloudy conditions. We will be outside the entire day so in addition to proper footwear, you will want to make sure that your child has a jacket with them. They will be receiving a softball T-shirt to wear once we arrive at the field so send them in a long sleeve shirt that they can wear under the T-shirt in addition to a jacket. Other than the restrooms, there is no building that we can access to warm-up so it is important that they have enough clothing to stay warm. You need to send in a sack lunch with a drink labeled with their name and packed in all disposable containers that we can pitch once lunch is over in order to avoid having to lug around lunch boxes, etc. They also will need a baseball/softball glove that is labeled with their name. They will be playing two T-ball games and between games will get to play carnival games & win prizes in the Olympic Village with their Lindbergh High School buddy. We will return to school @ 1:15pm and bake cookies and relax in the classroom the remainder of the day as they will no doubt be exhausted from all the fun! I will post pictures throughout the day so be sure to check the blog frequently. If you need to get hold of me for any reason please call me on my cell phone.

In the event that it is cancelled due to the fields being too wet/flooded from Wednesday and Thursday's monsoon, I will call you Thursday night and let you know. We will then have a regular school day. There is a rain date scheduled for April 10th. Please let me know if you have any questions!
