Weekend Fun!!
Looks like Karl, Madison and Christine had perfect weather for a weekend hike! I know I sure miss hiking! Please text me pictures anytime of your kids activities outside of school & I'll post them to our blog!
Crazy Week!
Greetings all!
This is a crazy week! We have the Special Olympics bowling tournament tomorrow from 10:00-12:00 at Show Me Lanes and the all school field trip on Thursday to the Savis Center. The kids will need a sack lunch for Tuesday but no lunch on Thursday as you should've already paid for their lunch at Savis with the permission slip. The kids will be at an all school assembly on Wednesday and will receive a blue T-shirt that needs to be worn on Thursday. Since it is the breast cancer "Paint it Pink" event, feel free to accessorize in as much pink as desired but the shirt needs to be the blue one they receive at Wednesday's assembly. Call the room with any questions! Have a great week!!

Late arrivals and early pick-up policy
Hello!
I have been asked by the administration to remind you all that any late arrivals or early pick-ups must go through the attendance office. You cannot drop off your child late in the morning (even 5 minutes) and send them into the room nor can we any longer just release students from our room for early pick-ups. You must go with your child to the attendance office to sign them in or stop by the attendance office before we can let them out. The attendance office will contact staff in the room. This is a safety issue as well as an attendance policy strictly enforced at the high school. Regardless of you letting us know, until we hear it from the attendance office we will not let students leave. If you send in your child late & haven't gone to the attendance office your child will have to go to the attendance office and we don't have the staff to walk your child down. Apparently this has become a significant problem so there are absolutely no exceptions. I apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause but rules are rules. Thanks for your understanding! Have a great weekend!!

Parent Meeting Reminder!
This is just a reminder that there is a freshman parent meeting this evening at Lindbergh High School at 6:00pm. We will be meeting to discuss any questions, concerns, etc. that you all may have! Please email myself or Johnicka Turner any questions/issues/celebrations etc. that you would like discussed so that it can be added to the agenda. Please let either one of us know if you will be unable to attend but have a question so that it can be discussed with you at a later time. Thanks & see you all this evening!

Monday Night & Odds 'n Ends
I want to thank you all for the wonderful get together on Monday night! I am so happy that I got to see you all and the kids. Thank you for the very thoughtful gifts as well as all the phone calls, texts and delicious casseroles over the past few weeks since the surgery. I'm so happy to have you all in Grace's and my life. You all are truly a blessing!
Just a reminder that I will be uploading the student's grades on Thursday night after they take the final exam for my 7th hour. IEP goal data sheets will be filled out and either mailed to your homes over the holiday break or sent home with your child on the first day back. As always, if you should have any questions feel free to contact me.
I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and will talk to you all soon about setting up a bowling date prior to the return to school for second semester.

Email from SSD superintendent re CT tragedy
We are all extremely saddened by the events that took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, on Friday. Our thoughts are with all of those who have been impacted by this tragic incident.
As we mourn the tremendous loss of these children and educators, we also recognize the impact that events like these have on our own school communities, our staff, our students and their families. Please be assured that safety is a top priority for SSD, and we take all measures possible to ensure the wellbeing of our students and staff.
We also appreciate the important role all of our SSD employees play in providing support during difficult times like these. We want to ensure that you have the resources you need to respond to questions and concerns from students and their families.
Each of our SSD schools will offer crisis counseling to help students who have been affected by these events. Listed below are some links to resources that may be helpful as families choose how to address this tragedy with their children.
